Future Freshmen
Priority Dates
The May 1 enrollment deadline for fall 2013 freshmen has passed. Please call us at 812-855-0661 if you have questions.
The online application for fall 2014 applicants will be available on August 1.
Indiana University practices modified rolling admission, which means we’ll begin reviewing your application as soon as we receive all of your supporting documents. You can expect an admission decision no later than the dates below, which are based on the date your application was completed (all materials were received or postmarked). However, you may receive a decision sooner. All decision notifications will be sent via email, and you can also check your status online. Please note that we cannot provide decisions over the phone.

- November 1: Students who have completed their applications for admission (all materials have been received, submitted online, or postmarked by this date) will receive an admission decision no later than January 15. Students will receive notification by email and can also check admission status online. Please note that November 1 is also the priority deadline for maximum scholarship consideration. Only eligible students who submit a completed admission application by the November 1 date will be considered for an invitation to apply for Selective Scholarships.
- February 1: Students who have completed their applications for admission (all materials have been received, submitted online, or postmarked by this date) will receive an admission decision no later than March 15. Students will receive notification by email and can also check admission status online.
- After February 1: Applications received after this date will be considered on a space-available, case-by-case basis. Students will receive notification by email and can also check admission status online.
- May 1: Students planning to begin their studies at Indiana University in the fall semester must submit the $100 enrollment deposit by this date.
Spring Applicants
Applications for spring 2014 will not be considered if received after November 1.
Music Students
The application deadline for the Jacobs School of Music is November 1. The deadline for submitting all supplemental materials to Jacobs is December 1. For more information, please contact the Jacobs School of Music Admissions Office at (812) 855-7998. Jacobs School of Music freshman applicants will not be considered for IU merit scholarships administered by the IU Office of Scholarships. The Jacobs School of Music will administer these scholarships, taking into consideration the combination of academic achievement and talent as it is demonstrated in the audition.
